Azina is a point-of-sale and accounting app built for small businesses anywhere in the world. This page explains, plainly, what information Azina collects, why, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
When you register a business on Azina, we collect:
- Business details — your business name, nature of business, and address.
- Phone number — used to identify mobile money payments and to contact you about your account. It is required because it also forms part of our anti-abuse measures (preventing a single device from repeatedly resetting its free trial).
- Email address — used to verify your account and send you a one-time sign-in code. We do not send marketing email.
- Country and currency — so amounts are shown correctly for where you operate. Your currency starts as your country's own, and you can choose a different one in the app.
As you use the app, we also store the data you enter to run your business: products and stock, purchases, sales, expenses, clients and their credit balances, and production records. This is your data — it exists so the app can do its job, and so your records survive a lost or replaced phone.
What we don't collect
Azina does not ask for your government ID, your bank login, or your mobile money PIN. Card details you choose to enter for a subscription payment are sent directly to the relevant payment processor and are not stored by Azina.
How your data is stored
Your data is stored with Supabase, a database and authentication provider we use as our backend. Every business's data is protected by database-level access rules, so one business can never see another's — not even accidentally, and not even by us, through the app itself. A small number of platform-administrator accounts can see summary information across businesses (for support and operating the service), separately secured and logged.
How your data is used
- To run the app's core features — Stock, Sales, Expenses, Reports, Clients, and Production.
- To verify your identity when you sign in.
- To track your free trial and subscription status.
- To contact you about your account — for example, a payment confirmation, or if your trial is ending.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Branches
If you link a branch to a head office (HQ), the HQ can see that branch's sales, expenses and stock reports (read-only). Only the HQ can remove the link. A branch's subscription is paid separately by the branch.
Payments
If you subscribe to Azina, your payment is processed by the payment method you choose (mobile money or bank transfer; cards will be added). Azina records that a payment was made, the amount, and the method — not your card number, bank login, or wallet credentials.
Permissions the app may ask for
- Camera — only if you choose to scan a product barcode. Images are processed on your phone to read the code; they are not stored or sent to us.
- Bluetooth (and, on some Android versions, location) — only to find and connect to a receipt printer. Azina does not collect or store your location.
- Notifications — only if you switch on the weekly business tip reminder. These reminders are created on your own phone; no notification data is sent to us. You can turn them off in the app or in your phone's settings.
Your choices
You can ask us to delete your business's account and all associated data at any time. See how to delete your account, or contact us at the email below. We'll confirm the deletion back to you once it's done.
Children's privacy
Azina is a business tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, let registered businesses know in the app.
